The awards were granted in five main categories and two special ones. Similar to last year, President Duda also handed out an individual award.
Delta, a manufacturer of anti-burglary doors and locks, was named the Leader of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises. LPP, a clothing producer and distributor, won the National Success award, while Olimp Labs, a manufacturer of medicines and dietary supplements, received the International Success title.
Marco, based in Gliwice, southern Poland, won the Responsible Business award and Ochnik, a producer of leather clothing, was awarded the title of the best Family Company.
Warsaw Genomics, which offers genetic tests, was named the best Polish startup, while the Research and Development award went to Medical Inventi, a medical research company.
President Duda also granted the Individual Award to Czeslaw Lang, a former cyclist and the current organiser of Poland's Tour de Pologne cycling race.
The president congratulated the winners on their successes and stressed that all of them "are great businessmen with an extreme sense of responsibility" for their companies, employees and everything in their environment.
The Economic Awards are granted yearly by the president of Poland. They distinguish companies that offer a significant contribution to the development of the Polish economy, build a positive image of the Polish economy around the world, and provide an example to others. (PAP)
