The convention will be addressed by Duda, who will sum up his current term and present the guidelines of his programme for the next one, as well as by the PiS leader, Jaroslaw Kaczynski, a PiS politician engaged in the organisation of the event has told PAP.
Just before the start of the convention, the party's political council is scheduled to meet and formally support Duda's presidential candidacy. A few days later, Duda's pre-election tour of the country and meetings with voters will start.
According to unofficial information, the campaign staff will be headed by PiS MEP Joachim Brudzinski, who will be in charge of "operational" matters, and Beata Szydlo, who will be responsible for programme issues.
On Wednesday, at a meeting with residents of Lubartow, southeastern Poland, Duda announced his intention to run for re-election in this spring's election.
Earlier on Wednesday, Sejm (lower house) Speaker Elzbieta Witek said that the presidential election would take place on May 10. (PAP)
