Szymon Holownia, an independent presidential candidate who came third in the first round of Poland's presidential elections last Sunday, will set up a social and civic movement, 'Poland 2050', according to Holownia's Tuesday announcement.

"From this wonderful movement that translated into this (presidential) campaign, a social movement, a civic movement will emerge, taking the form of an association and the name of 'Poland 2050'," Holownia said.

The name indicates a horizon of more than one generation, Holownia added.

Holownia took 13.87 percent of the vote in the June 28 election. Incumbent President Andrzej Duda and his main contender Rafal Trzaskowski have entered the second round, with their face-off scheduled for July 12.

The activist also said his movement will not officially support either candidate, but he himself will vote against "Duda's vision of presidency." (PAP)
