Poland reports 21,283 new coronavirus cases on Wednesday, death toll at 803

Poland recorded 21,283 new confirmed coronavirus cases and 803 deaths over the past 24h to Wednesday morning, against 13,227 cases reported on Tuesday, data released by the Health Ministry shows.

The healthcare system is now handling 33,906 Covid-19 hospitalisations, down from 34,619 recorded the day prior, including 3,457 patients on ventilators, against the total of 4,506 ventilators available, the Health Ministry said on Twitter. 

The health ministry also reported that 357,099 people are under quarantine. So far, 2,229,801 people have recovered.

In all, 7,970,164 Poles have already received jabs against Covid-19, with 2,137,304 of those having had both doses of the vaccine, according to data posted on the official government website, gov.pl. (PAP)
