Although Poland is the fourth-largest furniture maker in the world, most of the production is exported to Europe. Producers want to gain new markets in other parts of the world, the Puls Biznesu daily wrote on Tuesday.

According to the sector's estimates the value of furniture exports reached over PLN 36.6 billion in 2015. This means exports have grown by over 40 percent in the past ten years.

Poland with a 6.3-percent share in global furniture exports places fourth, behind China, Italy and Germany.

"Our most important trade partners come from Europe," head of the Polish Chamber of Commerce of Furniture Producers Jan Szynaka has told the daily. According to him, Polish makers have a good chance to win competition in the Arab countries, offering high-quality products at a reasonable price.

Data published in the "Polish Furniture Outlook 2016" shows Poland’s exports to Romania, Slovakia and the US going up by over 20 percent in 2015. (PAP)
