EC raises Poland's GDP growth forecast to 3.5 pct in 2026
The European Commission (EC), the EU's executive arm, has raised its forecast for the Polish economic growth to 3.5 percent in 2026 from 3.0 percent expected earlier.
According to the updated forecast published on Monday, projected GDP growth for 2025 has been trimmed from 3.3 to 3.2 percent. At the same time, the EC anticipates a more robust performance in 2026, lifting its estimate from 3 to 3.5 percent. EU officials also expect the pace of growth to ease to 2.8 percent in 2027.
In its autumn forecast, the commission indicated that inflation in Poland would continue to moderate in the coming months. The projected inflation rate for 2025 has been revised down to 3.4 percent from the 3.6 percent forecast in spring. Inflation is expected to reach 2.9 percent in 2026, before climbing to 3.7 percent in 2027. (PAP)
