Nawrocki says Poland was aware of strikes on Iran
Polish President Karol Nawrocki said on Saturday morning he had been aware of the attacks launched by the United States and Israel on Iran thanks to communication channels with allies.
Earlier on Saturday, Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz said his country launched a "pre-emptive" attack on Tehran. US President Donald Trump later confirmed his country launched a "major combat operation" in Iran.
"Thanks to the channels we maintain with our allies and coalition partners, we were aware of the military action taken by Israel and the US," Nawrocki wrote on X.
He added that the current priority is ensuring the security of all Poles in the Middle East, including diplomats and soldiers of the country's military contingents in the region.
"I remain in constant contact with our NATO allies and state institutions," Nawrocki wrote. (PAP)
