Polish defence minister hails military cooperation with Slovakia
The defence projects Poland conducts in collaboration with Slovakia are a demonstration of the strategic partnership and friendship between our countries, Minister of National Defence Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz has said.
Kosiniak-Kamysz and Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico opened Slovakia's exhibition pavilion on Wednesday at the 8th Defence24 Days security conference in Warsaw.
"I am glad that Slovakia is proving yet again its commitment to building defence capabilities, joint activities to protect the eastern flank of NATO," Kosiniak-Kamysz said during the event. "I am hoping for more good contracts and think that after our discussion with Prime Minister Fico we will soon have announcements to make, that our companies will cooperate," he added.
Kosiniak-Kamysz also reinforced Poland's and Slovakia's commitment for mutual protection and support within NATO and the European Union.
Defence24 Days, held at the PGE National Stadium on May 6-7, is the largest defence and security conference in Central and Eastern Europe. The organisers announced that this year's line-up of panellists will include members of the Polish government, chiefs of the army and uniformed services, along with a host of foreign political and military decision-makers.(PAP)
