Only 9 percent of surveyed Poles use generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) in their daily work, and 12 percent do so at least once a week, a recent survey by the global PwC consultancy has revealed.

Overall, 45 percent of Polish respondents said they had used GenAI for professional tasks at some point over the past 12 months, PwC reported in its "Global Workforce Hopes and Fears Survey 2025."

In contrast, the average for GenAI use among global workforce stood at 32 percent, the consultancy said, adding that employees across the world shared enthusiasm towards the AI. Of all respondents, 50 percent expressed interest in the new technology, although the indication was less prevalent among non-managers (43 percent).

"AI has arrived, but somewhat less so in our country than globally," said Katarzyna Komorowska of PwC, quoted in the company's press release issued on Friday. Fewer Polish workers have used AI tools in the past 12 months than the global average, so Polish firms should invest in developing their people's technological skills, because without them we are going to lose our national economy's competitive advantage, she added.

Jakub Borowiec of PwC said that despite the still relatively low use of AI among workers in Poland, over 60 percent of the users admitted that the technology improved their creativity, quality of work and productivity, and that the new tools were time-savers. "Now, the time has come to convince the unconvinced," Borowiec concluded.

PwC conducted the survey between July 7 and August 18, 2025, on a representative sample of 49,843 company workers in 48 countries and regions, employed in 28 industries. (PAP)
