Tusk meets with Zelensky in Kyiv
Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk after arriving in Kyiv on Thursday morning met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
Tusk, who was accompanied by Finance Minister Andrzej Domanski, started his visit by laying wreaths at a wall commemorating the defenders of Ukraine.
Domanski is preparing an international conference devoted to the reconstruction of the war-ravaged Ukraine. The visit of Poland's top politicians is also related to Russia's ongoing attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure.
Dure to the attacks, power supplies are irregular and the Ukrainian capital itself suffers from long interruptions of heat supply amid a particularly harsh winter.
Poland has recently sent hundreds of power generators purchased both from government funds and charity collections.
Trilateral talks between the United States, Russia and Ukraine started in the United Arab Emirates capital Abu Dhabi in late January. The second round of the talks started on Wednesday and is expected to continue on Thursday. Zelensky described the results achieved so far as "constructive." (PAP)
