The two acts of sabotage targeted a railway line connecting Warsaw with Dorohusk on the country's border with Ukraine. Warsaw says the two suspects, Yevhenii I. (41) and Oleksandr K. (39), were acting under instructions from Moscow. Under Polish law, individuals who have been formally charged by prosecutors but not yet convicted have their surnames shortened to the initials for privacy protection.

Prosecutor Artur Kaznowski announced the news after the court session concluded on Thursday.

The ruling by the court marks the first step in the procedure to issue an arrest warrant for the two individuals and may ultimately lead to an international arrest warrant and a possible Interpol Red Notice. (PAP)
