Chopin 2025: Culture minister praises high standard of competition

The 19th International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition features a high standard of performance, Culture Minister Marta Cienkowska has assessed.

Sunday marks the end of the second round of the auditions, the minister reported in a post on the X platform on that day.

"The standard of the competition this year is really even, and the diversity of approaches to Chopin shows how alive and inspiring his music remains' she wrote.

Chopin 2025: Chinese pianist says she feels close to Chopin

She added that all Polish participants awaiting the results: Piotr Alexewicz, Adam Kaldunski, Piotr Pawlak and Yehuda Prokopowicz "presented an individual interpretative idiom, impressing with its sound culture, awareness of form, and musical maturity."

The stage III of the contest will start on Tuesday, October 14.

The 19th edition of the International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition, which runs from October 2 to October 23, is organised by Poland's Fryderyk Chopin Institute. (PAP)
