Andrzej Domanski said on Thursday that the expected inflation level would stay within the range accepted by Poland's central bank NBP.

Earlier in the day, the country's statistical office GUS reported in a flash estimate that prices of consumer goods and services (Consumer Price Index, CPI) had increased by 3.1 percent year on year in July 2025, and by 0.3 percent month on month, against the expected rise of 2.9 percent and 0.2 percent, respectively.

Domanski also said that at the moment, the ministry was not planning to revise this year's budget or update any deficit forecasts.

Asked about any potential impact of the inflation trajectory on the country's monetary policy, Domanski said that the decision to lower interest rates was up to the Monetary Policy Council and that he would not comment on its actions.

However, Domanski said that interest rates in Poland were still high. "This is a fact, not an assessment," he added. (PAP)wpb/mf
