Poland’s Wlodarczyk sets new world record in Warsaw
Poland's Anita Wlodarczyk set a new world record in the women’s hammer with an impressive throw of 82.98 metres during the Kamila Skolimowska Memorial at the PGE National Stadium in Warsaw on Sunday.

Wlodarczyk set the previous record with a 82.29 metre throw during the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro and took the gold.
Wlodarczyk was a silver medalist at the 2012 London Olympics and won the world championship title last year. She is the first woman in the history of hammer throw to exceed 80 metres. (PAP)
