So far the record turnout of 316,000 people attended the European Handball Federation (EHF) Euro in Denmark in 2014.

"The tournament in Poland will be held in four venues (Katowice, Gdansk, Wroclaw and Krakow), three of which can accommodate 10,000 fans. So I think that the record will be beaten", said EHF Vice-President Arne Elovsson.

Around 1,200 journalists will be covering the events of the 12th EHF tournament while 840 volunteers aged between 18 and 65 years will be ready to help fans.

The final will be played at the Tauron Arena, Krakow.

During the first day of the tournament Poland will play against Serbia at the Tauron Arena. (PAP)
