Officials from the US weapons industry have assured PAP that, at the moment, the coronavirus situation is not affecting orders for Poland, including the production of F-35 combat aircraft.

"It is highly unlikely to have a negative impact on the Polish F-35 programme, because the defence industry in the USA and Great Britain, as well as in many other European countries, is considered to be of particular importance to security, so work is being continued without interference due to the pandemic," stated PAP's source.

On Tuesday, Minister of Defence Mariusz Blaszczak declared that there would be no substantial correction to modernisation plans and that all key programmes would be finalised. (PAP)
