Almost 5 million tourists visit Poland in Jan-Sept

In the first nine months of 2016, Poland was visited by 5 million foreign tourists, the Central Statistical Office (GUS) has reported.

In September alone, the country was visited by 650,000 tourists from abroad.

Foreign tourists spent 12.2 million nights in Polish accommodation facilities in the first three quarters of 2016.

Germans constituted the biggest group among the incoming visitors, with 1.34 million German citizens visiting Poland in the reported period. (PAP)
