During WWII John Kent from Canada fought alongside Poles in the Battle of Britain in the famous No. 303 Polish Fighter Squadron. He became friends with Polish pilots and learned Polish. Kent received Virtuti Militari from General Sikorski. He always wore the ribbon of this medal on his lapel.
