Polish presidential couple to visit Jordan
Poland’s President Andrzej Duda and his wife Agata Kornhauser-Duda are on Saturday heading for a three-day visit to Jordan, according to a senior aide to the Polish head of state.
The itinerary of the visit includes talks with Jordan’s King Abdullah II, a defence industry seminar, and a meeting with religious leaders in that country.
"The president's visit to Jordan is part of a programme of Poland's presence in the Middle East peace process, combined with the political support that Poland provides amid efforts to find solutions to ensure peace and a return to normalcy in the Middle East," Polish presidential minister Krzysztof Szczerski has told PAP.
While in Amman, the Polish presidential couple will attend a dinner hosted by the Jordanian royal couple on Saturday evening, according to Szczerski.
On Sunday, President Duda will take part in the opening of a seminar on the cooperation of the two countries’ defense industries, an event during which he is scheduled to make a speech, Szczerski said.
After an official welcoming ceremony, the Polish presidential couple will meet with the Jordanian royal couple. This will be followed by a meeting of the two heads of state. The Polish president will also have a working breakfast with King Abdullah II and hold talks with Jordanian Prime Minister and Defence Minister Hani Al-Mulki.
The Polish presidential couple will also meet with church leaders and members of a Jordanian centre for interreligious dialogue in Amman.
On Monday, President Duda will visit an arms plant near Amman, Szczerski said. (PAP)
