According to a survey, which tracks foreign direct investment (FDI) in 44 countries, Poland climbed from the 16th position last year to sixth place this year, the daily Puls Biznesu wrote on Monday.
Although the number of FDI projects in Poland has declined by 3 percent, the number of manufacturing projects has grown since 2023, the newspaper added.
In terms of the number of jobs created in Poland as a result of FDI, Poland is even higher in the ranking. With 22,400 full-time positions and 21 percent growth since last year, the country has taken the fourth place in the survey.
However, Puls Biznesu wrote, European FDI faces its first decline in three years.
Throughout 2023, after two years of post-pandemic rebound, businesses around the world announced 5,694 greenfield and expansion projects, a year-on-year decrease of 4 percent compared with 2022, according to EY.
The total number of jobs created in Europe as a result of FDI fell by 7 percent year on year to 319,923, EY's data showed. (PAP)
