"I hope they will develop in the best possible way in the economic and interpersonal sphere as well as in bilateral and multilateral cooperation," Duda said at the Polish embassy in Beijing on Sunday, while awarding individuals who have contributed to the peaceful and consistent development of Polish-Chinese relations.

Duda, who began his official visit to China on Saturday, will meet President Xi Jinping, Premier Li Qiang, and Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress Zhao Leji. He will also address economic forums in Dalian and Shanghai.

"I am glad that we have been building Polish-Chinese relations calmly and consistently all these years," he said.

Duda noted that 2025 will be the last year of his term and that the current visit is his 'farewell' to China.

"It has also a symbolic dimension because these relations are important to me, and I would like them to last," he said.

Duda added that Poland "should conduct a policy of a wise balance between the east and west as it will bring us benefits." (PAP)
