Poland sets up Nato-Ukraine training centre
The Polish defence minister has announced the creation of a Nato-Ukraine centre for education, analysis and training in Bydgoszcz, north-central Poland.
Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz reported that the decision was taken at a Nato defence ministers meeting in Brussels on Thursday.
"A NATO-Ukraine education, analysis and training centre will be established in Bydgoszcz... We have full agreement. We are starting the creation of this centre," he declared.
"It was a multi-stage process, but today, also after the bilateral meetings, I am glad that all member states support this initiative," Kosiniak-Kamysz added.
"This is the first initiative of its kind between Nato and Ukraine, which produces tangible results," he said, adding that the centre will collect "lessons learned from the war in Ukraine" and provide support to the country fighting the Russian invasion. (PAP)
