Poland welcomes first female F-16 pilot
The first woman in Poland has qualified as an F-16 fighter jet pilot, Defence Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz has said, adding that more will follow.
"The lady officer serves at the 32 Tactical Air Base in Lask," the minister wrote on X on Friday.
"Yet another female pilot is being trained at the 31 (Tactical Air - PAP) Base in Krzesiny. We're are proud of you!"
According to the official, Poland's first female F-16 operator learned her duties in the US, the jets' manufacturer.
Produced by General Dynamics, the aircraft can engage in air-to-air combat and air-to-surface attacks and is used by 26 states outside the US.(PAP)
