Polish men's volleyball team takes silver at Paris Olympics

Poland's men's volleyball team was defeated by the French team in the championship match at the Paris Games on Saturday losing its chance to win a first gold medal in 48 years.

Poland, the Men's Volleyball World Ranking leaders, lost to the hosts 0-3 in the final of the tournament in three sets, 19-25, 20-25 and 23-25. 

Poland won gold at the 1976 Olympics in Montreal, but failed to reach the medal rounds in the last five Olympic Games: Athens, Beijing, London, Rio and Tokyo. (PAP)
