Four Poles are among 132 foreigners in the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs’ wanted database, according to Mediazona, a Russian independent portal.

Mediazona journalists have analysed the database and developed a user friendly search tool to review the list.

The names of the four Poles have been put in the West European politicians and officials category.

According to Mediazona, likely due to the demolition of Soviet war memorials in Poland, Russia has put on the list: Roman Szelemej, the mayor of the south-western town of Walbrzych; the director of the Institute of National Remembrance (IPN), Karol Nawrocki; and Karol Rabenda, a former deputy state assets minister.

Jan Jozef Hofmanski, the President of the International Criminal Court in the Hague, has also been placed on Russia's wanted list because, according to Mediazona, because he is seeking the arrest of President Vladimir Putin.

Russia has also put Kaja Kallas, the Estonian Prime Minister, and Lithuania's culture minister have also made the list, along with 80 Latvian citizens. (PAP)
