Krakow airport sees record-breaking passenger numbers
Krakow-Balice, Poland's second-largest airport, has reached a historic milestone with over 13.2 million passengers serviced in 2025.
According to statistics released by the airport on Friday, it handled a total of 13.248 million passengers last year, up notably from nearly 11.1 million in 2024. December 2025 alone saw almost 1.096 million travellers pass through the airport.
"We are closing the best year in the history of our airport. Passenger traffic has never grown at such a pace," said Lukasz Strutynski, the airport's president, on Friday.
He added that in some months of 2025, passenger numbers rose by nearly 25 percent compared with the previous year.
"We have entered the category of large European airports serving between 10 million and 25 million passengers per year and, as ACI [Airport Council International] Europe statistics show, we remain the growth leader in this group throughout the year," Strutynski said.
Krakow-Balice is Poland's second-busiest airport in terms of the number of passengers, and the country's largest regional airport.
During the current winter season, 29 airlines are operating 176 regular routes from Krakow to 38 countries. (PAP)
