Nawrocki offers sympathy after US soldiers killed in action against Iran
Polish President Karol Nawrocki has expressed condolences following the deaths of three US soldiers who were killed in Kuwait during the Israeli-US military operation against the Iranian regime.
"The United States–the greatest ally of Poland–lost three of their sons in retaliatory attacks carried out by Iran. A couple more were injured. Our thoughts and prayers are with them and their families," Nawrocki posted in English on X on the night from Sunday to Monday.
"Before our eyes, the menacing Iranian regime – which armed Russia in its aggression against Ukraine and threatened other states in the Middle East – is being dismantled," he said, adding that the coming days would be a time of major resolutions in the region and that Poland stood together with its allies.
The United States and Israel launched attacks on Iran on Saturday morning, killing the country's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and several other top officials. Iran retaliated with strikes against US military bases in Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Bahrain, and carried out strikes on targets in Israel. (PAP)
