Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski has represented Poland during a videoconference with Ukraine's allies, known as the Coalition of the Willing, where world leaders declared prompt financial aid from Russian assets to Kyiv.

The meeting held on Tuesday gathered 40 international leaders, including French President Emmanuel Macron, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, and, for the first time, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

"No decisions about us without us," Sikorski commented on the conversation on the X platform on Tuesday.

After the meeting, Macron promised that in the coming days, the European allies would finalise a plan that would allow the use of funds from frozen Russian assets for Ukraine.

He further announced that European leaders had decided to set up a task force led by France and the UK, with the support of the US and Turkey, to prepare security guarantees for Ukraine.

Later on Tuesday, Sikorski described the gathering as "very useful." He said that "peace in Ukraine is closer" than when this coalition began its work. "It's moving in a better direction," he assessed.

Nevertheless, the Polish top diplomat expressed his scepticism regarding Moscow's willingness to pursue peace on conditions acceptable to Ukraine. (PAP)
