At its meeting with the Polish president and prime minister, US President Joe Biden will announce a USD 2 billion loan for Poland and will offer to sell 96 Apache attack helicopters to Poland, US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan has said.

Sullivan said on Tuesday that the US president would tell the Polish leaders at a meeting later in the day that the US was planning to offer Poland a new direct loan from the Foreign Military Financing programme and to sell 96 Apache helicopters to Poland.

Sullivan made the announcement during a press briefing preceding a meeting of the US president with Poland's President Andrzej Duda and Prime Minister Donald Tusk at the White House on Tuesday.

Sullivan explained that these initiatives would help Poland defend itself with the use of the most modern know-how and, at the same time, would be beneficial to the US arms industry. (PAP)
