Duda, Zelensky discuss peace negotiations
Poland's President Andrzej Duda held a telephone conversation with his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky about negotiations over Ukraine war.
Duda reported on the call to Zelensky on the X platform on Friday.
"We had a candid conversation on the heels of the recent meetings with (US envoy for Ukraine General Keith - PAP) Kellogg and on other developments," he wrote. "I conveyed to him that we consistently believe there is no other way to stop the bloodshed and achieve lasting peace in Ukraine except with the support of the United States."
Duda suggested to Zelensky "to remain committed to the course of calm and constructive cooperation with US President Donald Trump."
"I trust that good will and honesty form the foundation of the U.S. negotiation strategy. I have no doubt that President Trump is guided by a deep sense of responsibility for global stability and peace," the Polish president concluded.
The conversation came amid recent tensions between the Ukrainian and American presidents after the latter initiated talks with Russia about ending the conflict but did not invite Ukraine to take part. (PAP)
