Polish president appoints member of Monetary Policy Council

Poland's President Karol Nawrocki has appointed Marcin Zarzecki as a member of the Monetary Policy Council, the presidential spokesperson has said.

"By a decision dated December 15, 2025, President of the Republic of Poland Karol Nawrocki appointed Marcin Zarzecki as a member of the Monetary Policy Council as of December 22, 2025," Rafal Leskiewicz wrote on X on Monday.

According to the President's Office, Zarzecki is a sociologist, statistician and econometrician, as well as an academic lecturer, who has held senior positions at Cardinal Stefan Wyszynski University in Warsaw and served as president of the Polish Evaluation Society.

He also headed the Polish National Foundation between 2019 and 2024 and has been a deputy director at the Institute of National Remembrance since 2024. (PAP)
