More balloon-like objects enter Polish airspace from Belarus
Poland's military radar systems detected further violations of the country's airspace by balloon-like objects overnight from Tuesday to Wednesday, the Operational Command of the Armed Forces (DORSZ) has reported.
In a post on X on Wednesday, DORSZ wrote that the objects' flight paths were monitored and assessed as posing no threat to aviation safety or to the citizens of Poland.
"Cooperation between the Armed Forces of the Republic of Poland and the services responsible for state security enables those services to respond rapidly, including the interception of such objects and the detention of individuals suspected of involvement in these incidents," DORSZ said.
The command added that the Polish military remains on heightened alert to ensure the security of the country's airspace.
In recent days, DORSZ has reported recurring airspace violations by objects believed to be smuggling balloons originating from Belarus, a close ally of Moscow. (PAP)
