A group of some 250 soldiers landed at the Wroclaw-Starachowice airport on Saturday afternoon.

The 3rd Armoured Brigade Combat Team, part of the 4th Infantry Division, from Fort Carson, Colorado, is the first one to start a nine-month shift as part of the Atlantic Resolve operation.

The 3,500 strong Armoured Brigade Combat Team is bringing with it more than 400 tracked vehicles and over 900 wheeled vehicles, including 87 tanks, 18 self-propelled Paladin howitzers, more than 400 Humvee vehicles and 144 Bradley armoured infantry vehicles.

Teams preparing the presence of the American brigade have already been in Poland since December.

On Friday, two cargo ships loaded with American military equipment arrived in the German port of Bremerhaven. In the next few weeks all this equipment will be transported by rail and road to Poland, including Zagan and Boleslawiec. (PAP)
