The festival, which has been the biggest retrospective of Kieslowski's films organised in Italy, has been described by the Italian media as "an absolutely sensational initiative".

Newspapers run commentaries about "the genius of the Polish film director and unique nature of the review of his 40 films". On show at the prestigious Pallazo delle Esposizioni exhibition centre in Rome are Kieslowski's features, documentaries and short films.

Corso Polonia is an annual festival organised by the Polish Culture Institute in Rome to promote Polish culture.

The "Passione Kieslowski" review ends on June 12.(PAP)
