Two Polish films win awards at Sundance Festival
Two prizes went to Poles in the 2016 edition of the Sundance Film Festival, the largest independent film festival in the United States.
Michal Marczak won the Directing Award in the World Cinema Documentary section for his film "All These Sleepless Nights", a documentary about young people living in Warsaw.
The World Cinema Dramatic Special Jury Award for Unique Vision and Design went to Agnieszka Smoczynska, director of "Corki dancingu" (The Lure), a film about two mermaids who end up performing at a night club.
About 120 feature films and documentaries were shown at the Sundance Film Festival, which took place January 21 to January 31, 2016.
The Sundance Film Festival, a programme of the Sundance Institute, is an American film festival that takes place annually in Utah. It is the largest independent film festival in the United States and a showcase for new work from American and international independent filmmakers.
