Poland beat Russia in women's handball championship
Poland beat Russia 21-20 in a quarter-final match of the Women's Handball World Championship in Herning, Denmark on Wednesday. In the Friday semi-final Poland will play against the Netherlands.

Earlier the Poles beat Cuba 27:22, lost to Sweden 30:31, won with China 29:24 and Angola 29:27, lost to the Netherlands (20-31) and won with Hungary 24-23.(PAP)
