Sienkiewicz-Rogowska to head Polish Film Archive

Culture Minister Malgorzata Omilanowska has approved Anna Sienkiewicz-Rogowska to head the National Film Archive, the Culture Ministry announced on Wednesday.

Sienkiewicz-Rogowska will replace Professor Tadeusz Kowalski who headed the institution since 2008.



The National Film Archive (Filmoteka Narodowa), celebrating its 60 years of activity, is a state cultural institution designed to protect the national cultural heritage in cinematography and disseminate film culture.



With 2,000 Polish feature films from 1908 to contemporary times, 100,000 Polish documentaries and short films, 2,000 Polish cartoons, 15,000 foreign films, 370,000 stills from approximately 25,000 Polish and foreign films and thousands of posters and books, the archive's collections are among the largest in Europe.
