Poland comes 41st in Global Competitiveness Report 2015-2016
Poland advanced to 41st place from the previous year's 43rd in the Global Competitiveness Report 2015-2016 prepared by the World Economic Forum (WEF) in cooperation with the National Bank of Poland (NBP).
"After a few years of slight decreases, Poland has started climbing upwards on the competitiveness ranking list of the World Economic Forum (WEF) and has come 41st among 140 countries", states a commentary to the report.
Polled entrepreneurs pointed to negative factors like non-optimal relations between employers and employees, a negative impact of the tax system on employee motivation and the net outflow of human capital, according to the report.
In recent years there has been some improvement in the functioning of public administration and work ethics, analysts also remarked.
Education and substantial market potential continue to be strengths of the Polish economy, according to the report.
Switzerland again placed first, Singapore second and the United States third. (PAP)
