Five parties enter Polish parliament - Electoral Commission
The right-wing Law and Justice (PiS) won the Sunday general elections receiving 37.58 percent of the votes the State Electoral Commission announced on Monday evening.
The ruling, liberal Civic Platform (PO) was backed by 24.09 percent of voters.
The Kukiz Movement was backed by 8.81 percent, the Nowoczesna by 7.60 percent, the Polish People's Party (PSL) by 5.13 percent.
The United Left with a 7.55 percent backing did not cross the 8 percent electoral threshold required for electoral coalitions and will not be represented in the new parliament.
The KORWIN party receiving 4.76 percent of the vote and the Together party, backed by 3.62 percent of voters, fell short of the 5 percent electoral threshold set for individual parties.
The State Electoral Commission plans to announce the final results of the election to the Sejm (lower house) with seat allocation, election results to the Senate and the final turnout results on Tuesday afternoon. (PAP)
