Former CEO Andrzej Klesyk resigned in December 2015 at the request of the State Treasury, PZU's main shareholder. As a result, the insurer's supervisory board appointed Dariusz Krzewina acting CEO.

Beata Kozlowska-Chyla, Roger Hodgkiss and Robert Pietryszyn were appointed new management board members. On Wednesday Pawel Surowka is expected to join the board, which also includes Dariusz Krzewina and Przemyslaw Dabrowski.

Since 2011 Michal Krupinski was CEO of Merrill Lynch Polska and head of investment banking for Central and Eastern Europe at Bank of America Merrill Lynch.

In 2006-2008 he was undersecretary of state at the Ministry of State Treasury, where he was responsible for the supervision of state-owned companies and consolidation of the power sector.

In early January PZU's Extraordinary General Shareholders' Meeting replaced seven supervisory board members.

The management board has been appointed for a term of three full financial years. (PAP)
