So far Polish-Russian talks on road transport permits for 2016 on Wednesday have ended without agreement.

Road transport permits for Polish drivers transporting goods on the territory of the Russian Federation expired on January 31. Polish lorry drivers had until February 15 to leave the Russian territory.

At present Polish drivers can enter Russia only with special international permits. Poland has 168 such permits.

According to the Association of International Road Transport Carriers, lack of permits means losses for over 2,500 firms with a dozen or so thousand vehicles.

In 2015 the permit quota for Polish drivers stood at 250,000, with three permit categories: transit transport, bilateral transport and third-country transport. (PAP)
