"I have the feeling that this award must be really deserved, and I do not have the inner belief that I have deserved it. Lech Kaczynski was an exceptional person, there was no other politician of his dimension throughout Polish history. I had the exceptional honour to know him and work by his side. He was at once a romantic and a positivist, guided by a big idea for which he was ready to sacrifice himself, but also a supporter of work at the fundaments", Duda said.

Marta Kaczynska, Lech Kaczynski Social Movement head and the late President Kaczynski's daughter, called Duda's 2015 election to the presidency "a milestone on Poland development path" and said that Duda was leading Poland in her father's footsteps. (PAP)
