"The man has been charged (with the false bomb threat - PAP). He pleaded not guilty and refused to testify," Krystek added.

Police traced the hoax call to a party attended by 21 people, all of whom were drunk. Since nobody admitted to making the call, police detained them all. The man who was charged today had 2.0 permille of alcohol in his blood.

Around 800 people were evacuated and a few flights were diverted from Modlin airport on Sunday evening. The bomb threat was reported at around 9:00 p.m. on Sunday. Modlin Airport serves budget airlines.

A person found guilty of the call could face a prison sentence of up to eight years and can be also sentenced to cover the financial costs of the operation at the airport on Sunday. (PAP)
