Japan’s NGK to create 300 jobs in new Polish factory
Around 300 employees, including production line workers, warehouse managers and IT specialists, will be recruited for a new factory being built by Japan’s NGK Insulators group in southern Poland, recruitment agency Manpower said on Monday.
The PLN 300 million plant, which is due to come on stream in the first half of next year, will produce ceramic particulate filters for cars using novel technology.
The corporation’s Polish subsidiary, NGK Ceramics Polska, which will operate the plant, says it plans to produce filters made from silicon carbide and based on experimental technology. The production process will be highly automated and technologically advanced, requiring workers to have considerable technical skills, NGK Ceramics Polska says.
NGK Ceramics Polska has been operating for more than a decade within the Katowice Special Economic Zone in the south of Poland, and its new plant will also be part of the zone. The company says it has invested around PLN 800 million over the years and has more than 3,000 employees. It produces ceramic diesel particulate filters, smart nitrogen oxide sensors, and ceramic substrates used as catalytic converters in diesel engines.
The Japanese group NGK Insulators, of which NGK Ceramics Polska is part, is based in Nagoya, Japan and operates in more than 30 locations worldwide. (PAP)
