Poland's Viki Gabor wins Junior Eurovision Song Contest

Viki Gabor from Poland has won the 17th Junior Eurovision Song Contest held in Gliwice, south Poland, with the song 'Superhero.'

The final concert was held on Sunday at the Gliwice Arena hall, which gathered an over 17,000-strong audience.

Nineteen countries took part in this year's Junior Eurovision contest. The winner was selected by a jury vote and television viewers. The Polish singer won 278 points in total.

Last year's contest, held in Minsk, Belarus, was also won by the Polish contestant Roksana Wegiel.

The Junior Eurovision has been organised since 2003 for singers aged 9-15. The contest was hosted by Poland for the first time. Poland won the competition for the second time having participated in the event six times. (PAP)
