Poland to set up mid-cap rating agency - minister

The Warsaw Stock Exchange and the Polish Development Fund will create a national rating agency for medium-sized companies, deputy PM and Development Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said on Monday.

"We want to set up a Polish rating agency, mainly for medium-sized companies. The Warsaw Stock Exchange and the Polish Development Fund will start working on the agency. Of course, its is not only us that are trying to create their own agencies, and the big three still dominate. Today we don't want to compete with them, but would like to fill a niche for mid-caps which can't afford these agencies," Minister Morawiecki told reporters. (PAP)
