Polish researchers working on new coronavirus test
Researchers in Gdansk, northern Poland, are working on a new coronavirus test which could prove considerably less expensive than the currently used tests.
Scientists from the Gdansk-based Biotechnology and Molecular Medicine Institute and the SensDx company are aiming for a test that could be purchased in regular pharmacies and carried out at home from throat fluid samples. The results would then be sent to a physician for evaluation. The tests will also be applicable in workplaces, and are estimated to cost under PLN 100 (EUR 21.9)
Researchers from Italy and Germany are cooperating on the project. (PAP)
