The new legislation streamlines the implementation and settlement of EU-funded projects and speeds up the re-use of idle funds amid the epidemic.

According to the rationale of the legislation, due to the amount of available EU funds, which exceeds PLN 3 bln (EUR 660 mln), it is reasonable to incorporate them into the package of Polish solutions aimed to mitigate the impact of the deadly virus on Polish companies.

In general, the bill will affect tens of thousands of projects carried out under the EU's 2014-2020 operational programmes whose implementation is threatened by the spread of the Covid-19 disease. (PAP)
