"Let it be a time full of strengthening joy, victorious hope and interpersonal solidarity. Especially in these difficult days, when all of us together in the country are struggling with a dangerous epidemic, the comforting message of the Easter Resurrection miraculously uplifts our spirits," the president wrote.

The Eastern churches celebrate Easter this year on April 19, one week after the Roman Catholics. (PAP)
