Poland an EU road transport power - stats office
Poland has found itself among EU road transport leaders, the Central Statistical Office (GUS) reported on Wednesday.

According to GUS, in 2015 road freight transport in Poland in tonne-kilometres (tkm) accounted for 14.5 percent of the entire EU road freight.
This places Poland second in the EU behind Germany, and ahead of Spain and France, GUS said.
A tonne-kilometre, abbreviated as tkm, is a unit of measure of freight transport which represents the transport of one tonne of goods by a given transport mode (road, rail, air, sea, inland waterways, pipeline etc.) over a distance of one kilometre.
With an over 25-percent share in international road freight transport, Poland placed first ahead of Spain and Germany. (PAP)
